Day Three - Meiji Shinto Shrine
If Asakusa Kannon Temple is my favourite temple, than the Meiji Shinto Shrine is definitely my favourite shrine. It's not as "glamourous" as the temple, with its bright reds and sakura lined pathways. The Shrine is much closer to nature. The property is vast with beautiful scenery surrounding it. Once you enter this shrine, the busy life of Tokyo seems to melt away. Walking through this shrine is calming.
Since I'm pretty sure I contaminated the cleansing station (I'm sure it has a name, I just don't remember it!), I paid extra attention to this local guide as she explained the process.
