"After the devasting Tsunami of 2011, my heart started to ache for Japan again. I had to go back, with the fear that Japan would be lost to the world one day, and the anticipation to re-enter the dream again." ~Wynter
Day Eight - Sanjusangendo, Kiyomizu Temple, and Sannen Zaka
Before leaving for Osaka, I wanted to take a walk around Kyoto and visit Kiyomizu Temple, my favourite temple from our last trip to Japan. On the way we visited a few places I had never seen before, such as a graveyard!
Breakfast:
Our first stop was Sanjusangendo, a temple in Kyoto famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon. I wasn't allowed to take any photos inside, so I took these photos of the lucky charm I got!
Graveyard at the rear of Kiyomizu Temple:
Kiyomizu Temple:
There is a stretch of space that you have to cross with your eyes closed. You have to think of the person you want to be with as you walk towards this stone. If you can make it to this stone and touch it without opening your eyes, you will end up with the person you thought about. I didn't have anyone in particular so I didn't do it! ^_^;;
There was something significant about these three fountains... but I don't remember what it was! >_<
The street of 1000 shops! The BEST dounuts can be bought right at the botton on the left-hand side.
The dounut shop I mentioned above! LUFF these!
Some Engrish I found on a vending machine. LOL!
