"I have always wanted to visit Japan, and for a while this seemed like nothing more than a dream. When I finally landed in the country I felt, for the first time, what it is like to live in a dream." ~Wynter

Day Five - Goodbye Tokyo
My last day in Tokyo was bittersweet. I was really looking forward to moving on and experiencing other cities in Japan, but this excitment was mixed with the realization that I would be leaving Tokyo behind.

Kamakura
On the way to Hakone, I was able to stop by Kamakura, where the second largest (?) statue of Buddha in Japan is located. This was a quaint little city with friendly people! Kamakura is known for its pigeon-shaped cookies (which were DELICIOUS) as well as for the Buddha. The second last photo is of the group of school kids who helped me purchase a hat (the pointy one that rice farmers wear), and the last photo is of our bus driver and Kyoko, our tour guide.

Outside Kamakura
About an hour or so outside of Kamakura, on my way to Hakone, I made a pit-stop for some lunch. The eatery was right by the sea. The weather was perfect, the water was clear, and the food was delicious!

Odawara Castle Akagane Gate
This was the last stop before heading to the hotel in Hakone. The local tour guide at this location (first pic) was uber cute and very charismatic. This was also the location where I dressed up in traditional princess clothes. I didn't include those pics because they're a bit embarassing. ^_^;;

Hakone
When I finally arrived in Hakone it was already late in the afternoon. The hotel was in the traditional Japanese style! Before dinner I went up to Suicide Hill with Kyoko. Apparently a lot of people choose this sight to commit suicide.... Dinner was amazing, as you can see in the pictures. There wasn't much else to do in Hakone, but dressing up in Yukatas and prowling the beautifully lit streets at night was a fun experience.
